We make a simple analysis with the new file: does the success in cup game phase predict how succesful a team will be finally? | ||||||

The method. We assume that teams succesful in preliminary matches will be successful in final matches, too. The success in preliminary matches is measured by points, balance, and goals. They are summarized by teams. |

The cup results. We arrange teams in decending order in accordance of a key "POINTS1" + "BALANCE1" + "GOALS1". According to the results "Academia Emeritense F.C./1 (VE)", "HJK" and "JJK" should be well placed in the final games. |

The final results. The final results are shown on the Helsinki Cup web site. They are shown in the table to the right. We see that one of the three teams mentioned above as top team was ranked #1, another of them #2 and third of them #5-8. Not bad. |
